I finally made it to Evanston and found the hospital. The day was so windy. Wind advisors were given. 50 + mile an hour gusts were expected. I got out of the van to go into the hospital and thought I was going to blow away.
Ryan and Koby were already there. Koby was waiting in the waiting room. He looked scared. He said he feel asleep in the ambulance. It took them an hour to get from the hills they were in to the hospital. Thats quite the day for a 12 year old.
Ryan was in good spirits but kept on saying sorry. His nose itched really bad the entire time. Its crazy how much you appreciate body parts when they are not working. They did x rays and both wrist where broken. The doctor decided that he would try to set the wrist and put them in a temporary cast. It was the craziest thing ever!! I couldn't look. Luckily they knocked Ryan out.
Ryan has the best boss (Shane Wiser) ever!! He heard about Ryan's accident and rode his harley to Evanston so he could give Ryan a blessing. Jim Evans came too. They both stayed with us until we got Ryan back home in our bed. Ryan was in so much pain. What a nightmare. This was a Thursday. I was supposed to call and make an appointment with a wrist specialist the next day so we could get cast on or whatever was needed to get moving in the direction of being better. When i called the next morning most of the doctors didn't work on Fridays. The soonest we could be seen was the following Wednesday. Our Lake Powell trip was not going to happen. Boy was I depressed. I really needed that break but the more we thought about it the more we felt is might have been a blessing in disguise. Maybe something worse would have happened at Lake Powell. Who knows. Im just so glad that Ryan is a live and that his wrist are fixable.
