The joy of Service

As we were moving into our new home on Lomond View Dr. We had so much to do to the new house before it would be good enough to move into. New carpet, new paint, cleaning (blinds, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, garage, etc.) Our new and old neighbors and wards were AMAZING!!! Our old neighbors (The Swans) were there everyday helping me. Bring in food, watching our kids. Despite the fact that they didn't want us to move they were there helping us because they are our dearest friends.

Our new ward sent around a sign up sheet for ladies to come in and help every single day. It was such a great way to get to know our new ward. I fell in love with each lady that helped me. It meant so much to me. One day our New stake was having a day of service and we were one of the families that our ward decided to help. We woke up, got ready and looked out the windows and saw a big group of smiling, happy mormons holding racks, shovels, walking towards our house. I felt so overwhelmed I just wanted to run and hide. I walked out against my initial reaction and thanked them all for coming. It was fun getting to know them. They worked so hard to clean up our yard and to help where ever else we needed them. We had a great feeling that all would be well. That our decision to move from a place we loved and starting over again was good. We were sad to leave our old ward. Because we had so many wonderful friend but this made it easier on us knowing that we would have just as wonderful of friends in this new ward. They all are amazing!! We felt so blessed. I had two weeks left in my pregnancy. The due date was getting close. Ryan was leaving out of town the next week and we still had so much left to do. We hoped that we could get it all done before our baby came. We knew that I would be worthless for a while after his birth. We were determined to get as much done as possible!!
